Cary Conerway Woods is a native Memphian and a graduate of Carver High School.  He is an alumnus of The University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He received his Law degree in 1974. A practcing attorney for over 40 years, he joined the ranks of Juvenile Court as a Judicial Referee. He also served as the Assistant General Counsel for The Department of Children Services, Assistant Attorney General for The State of Tennessee under A.G. Bill Gibbons and past A.G. Hugh Stanton and past A.G. John Pierotti. Woods gained additional experince as a Shelby County Public Defender and Executive Director of Memphis Housing Authority in conjunction with the private practice of law. Since 2010 Woods has served as Shelby County Divorce Referee advocating for Shelby County Tennessee families.
